Using pay to play to get priority search results, etastravel.com took my credit card information and passport pages with identifiable data. The ETA was not processed after a week, which prompted me to discover the scam, since the status of the application could not be verified by U.K. authorities. I realized the email I received acknowledging the transaction request was from a [email protected]. I had successfully applied in the official uk.gov website before for another individual and the scammer website looked very much the same. This was “Impersonation” in essence.
