I answered an advert in 'The Home Mag' (a glossy free magazine sent to my house) for 'Entry Brite' glass inserts for doors. Vonte Whitney responded, gave me an Entry Brite brochure (company is licensed, bonded and insured, work is warrantied etc) wrote an invoice on Entry Brite stationary and took a $1000 deposit. Never mentioned that he does not work for this company (although he has a personal connection with the owner) nor does he have a CA contractors license. The installation was problematic from the start, the standard appalling, he clearly didn't know what he was doing. Nothing has been done to remedy the matter and he has not responded to multiple texts. Entry Brite have told me it is nothing to do with them and the matter is "between Vonte and you". I am reporting this as a 'bait and switch scam' albeit with the full knowledge of Entry Brite.
