Without an interview or any further communication besides me sending my resume, I got an email saying I had gotten the job. Starting at $25/hr and raising to $30 after a month. Without any form of secure method, they wanted clear pictures of my ID (front and back), my social security card, a selfie of me, my complete mailing address, and of course my phone number. Of course, I didn't do any of it.

I applied to the initial job post on Indeed, and was messaged back immediately directing me to a "jotform" site to seemingly a further detailed application/next step in the process. I filled out the form and received an email approving my application explaining that my first job task will be texted/emailed to me the next day. I'm sent a text directing me to an email describing the expected task. I'm sent a check via USPS and told to deposit it in my bank account so I'm able to complete the task.

On 6/19/23, an alert was sent by the number given, offering me an interview for a Data Entry position with Valted Seq, Inc, and said I was required to download Telegram and set up an interview with Kyah Apollonia. When I connected with Kyah, it seemed like an actual professional interview. She explained I would be paid $20/hour during training for two weeks, and afterwards $35/ hour. She offered me the job after the interview, and informed me I were to be on Telegram at 7am the next morning to meet with my Training Advisor, Johnathan Gallatin. We went through the paperwork process by email. He sent a background check form, I-9, W-4, direct deposit, and an offer letter. I filled out the paperwork, emailed it back, and he informed me that we were done for the day. On 6/20/23, I connected back with Mr. Gallatin on Telegram at 7am. He informed me that I would be receiving a check to purchase equipment and softwares I needed to work from home. The only thing I was told to do this day was to track the check through FedEx. On 6/21/23, I received the check from OC Tanner with the address of 1863 S. Main Street, Salt Lake City, Utah, 811115. The check was $4,850 from Evidence Action with the address of 641 S. St, North West, 3rd Floor, Wework, Washington D.C. 20001. I informed Mr. Gallatin that the check arrived, and he told me to deposit it and send a picture of the receipt to send to head department. I finished doing that, and he then told me to send Karlie Young $1,000 through CashApp so I could start the process to receive equipment through their company vendor. A scam alert came on CashApp when I tried to send the money, so I confronted Mr. Gallatin through Telegram to make sure this was real. He reassured me, and then had me try to buy bitcoin, but it would never process, so he told me to withdraw cash from my account. When I got to the bank and attempted to withdraw, they were asking why and assumed that it was for a job offer. I told her yes, and she told me that it was most likely a scam and that I probably should not go through with it. I told them to delete the check and I blocked everyone who I spoke with for the job. When they deleted the entire amount of the check from my account, it put my account to -$995, and i had to ask my grandmother to help me get out of the negatives, so we lost $1,000. On 6/22/23, I received another check from the same address for $8,850. On 6/27/23, I received another job alert from the same number for the same position.

I've been applying for jobs recently on indeed and upwork, looking for a work from home position. I received a message late at night from someone claiming to be "Ms.Cherene Mcrae" who worked for Blackhorn Ventures. After some research I could not see where the person was part of the team and asked where my resume was found and what position I'd be interviewing for. They told me all positions that were open and asked if I had Telegram or Signal Messenger to chat with them. They did not answer my questions. I then did further research, still unable to find the person or a way to contact Blackhorn Ventures and stumbled upon the ScamPulse.com Scam and found an experience similar to mine.

My red Flag was the address. That is not the correct format for an address and anybody who lives in the states knows that. Do not click on the package. It can be a phishing scheme. I don't know if the link to the "webpage" is safe.

Just for reference nobody hires a personal assistant without talking to them first.

Kimberly Kirk posted a job offer on Facebook and a tell you to direct message if it's interested. When you message she'll ask if you have Google chat and will provide you an email address to contact Hiring manager to start an interview. Hiring manager will state the name which is Shelia Slue. She proceeded with asking what position I'm interested in then she provides information about the job and how much it pays and the hours. Proceeds with the interview, review your answer then proceeds to hire you. Because it's a work from home and they need to provide your equipment they need to install softwares on it. They ask you to send money for the stuff then tells you that you are going to get reimburse. She asked for my id.me information, my social and personal information. Then she asked for my bank information saying that they are going to deposit money. I ended up opening a new bank account then they try to deposit money but the bank ended up locking my account. She then told me it is normal for the bank to do that and my account will be rectify and will be compensated. Advised Shelia that I am no longer interested on the job offer but told me I have to pay for cancelling it. Amber Kirk then message me on Facebook messenger that the hiring manager has been trying to reach out to me since I am no longer replying to her. She talked me into believing that it happened to her and Shelia promised me that I will not be inconvenient. I promise bided a different account which was my Bank of America credit card to provide their payment, but come to think of it they tried using my Chase account to pay me $5500 because it was saved on my BOA credit card to make payment. I give them all my log in information trusting them, but I got fooled big time. They overdraft my Chase account and I was left with nothing. I hope that someone can look into this.

A person named Lauren Stephens offered a job as data entry clerk, asked me to set up a Telegram account, then another person named Ann East sent a check to me for “office supplies “ and I haven’t heard from them since. I did not cash the check. I assume they planned to retrieve my checking account information once I cashed the check.
