Type of a scam Employment

After a lengthy 100 minute interview over MS Teams, I was offered a job to start today at 10 am, again on Teams. They emailed me a job offer and another note I needed to sign promising that I would only use the money they want to deposit in my account according to their instructions. I returned the offer and that note, signed, in addition to a copy of my NJ driver's license, front and back, with the ID number and address on the front masked out. They then sent me a check for $750 that was so awfully contrived I looked up whether depositing money could be a scam. Since deposits by check are by law (U.S.?) funded within 1-2 days, wherever they were to have me send a check of my own would have gotten away with the funds that would come directly out of my account. The pharma company seems real enough (a Danish company), although their rosepharmainc domain is unreachable. They fairly accurately represented this Danish company using information found in Wikipedia. While I initially thought their stilted English/style of communicating was due to English as a second language, it still bore hallmarks of AI gibberish.
