I was contacted via text as I had signed up ok to text me on job applications. Was asked to interview via telegram app. Sent offer letter and financial info. They sent me a check for 4995 and told me I could keep $150 as a sign on bonus and then use the rest to buy equipment needed for the job via their vendors.

I was approached by the alleged scammer via email for an open position. I did not see this position listed on the company’s employment page, but I figured it was an oversight and accepted an interview. At the agreed upon time, I called the interviewer twice via Skype and received no answer. He then proceeded to conduct the interview with written messages. His responses were appropriate but sometimes felt a little off or automated. He assured me I would have an answer the following morning. The next day I was offered the position, with a generous salary, a bonus, and a promised stipend to purchase a new work computer, phone, etc. I mentioned that I still had some questions about the position. The answers I was given were, again, alright but sort of general or automated. Big questions such as the supervisor I would be reporting to were ignored completely. There was some pressure to send info (name, address, emergency contact) in order to receive the employment offer letter, which I sent. There was more pressure to sign the letter and begin the position almost immediately. I held off and sent an email reply to the offer letter— most of the previous communication had been on the Skype app— with my questions about the job that had yet to be answered. The email address was very general and not name-specific. I have been ignored since this point, which was a couple of weeks ago. The company seems legitimate and I have found the person I was communicating with on LinkedIn (no profile picture) and their name mentioned in a press release a few years back. I read a review elsewhere that another individual felt their interview was with a chat bot, and someone else who said they had been scammed out of a few thousand dollars in purchasing their new laptop, work phone, etc. Not sure if this is a scam or just poor manners.

I was contacted by a man via text message. He had stated that he found me through Zip Recruiter/ Indeed Job Boards. The interview was through Skype via direct message by a different man. He had told me that I had gotten hired as an Executive Administrative Assistant. He wanted me to fill out a W-4 & a letter of employment as well as send him a picture of my Driver's License. I also noticed that I never filled out an application and he had sent out a check to my mailing address. The letter that came in with the check didn't look professional at all. I had told him that I was currently in school and won't be able to leave until I graduate next week. He had emailed me 2 different checks from 2 different banks. He wanted me to deposit the checks; however my bank had detected fraud and closed my account. Not only were these people trying to collect my information but they were also impersonating a REAL company.

On 9/21/22 via Linkedin.com, I received a resume inquiry from someone claiming to be from William Larry Law Firm for a Virtual Assistant position. After some conversation, on 9/22/22, the individual requested that I deposit a check in the amount of $3,950 for "equipment, printer, and first weeks pay" that would be mailed to my address. The position listed on LinkedIn offered to pay $60/ hr or $720 a week for 3-4 hours of work each day for 4 days. I have since declined the position. The profile has been deleted from LinkedIn, possibly because it is a scam. I have attached the email and other information I received.

I live in Calgary Alberta and was contacted by a company called ARTA Inc about 3 days ago through email saying they found my resume on indeed. I was interested in the job and signed an application form, a training document, and gave them a picture of my drivers license. Upon getting a phone call after being in touch through email for the past couple days I asked some questions and the lady on the phone seemed as though she wasn’t able to answer my questions about the legitimacy of the company. She said they would pay the training period over interact E-transfer and upon asking her how the company pays employees after that she simply stated that it would be discussed in the training, I also asked her for more information about the company and she continued to tell me that that would also be discussed in the training, so I searched the company on better business bureau and found the company had been reported previously in 2019 to be an employment scam. Luckily I didn’t give them any of my banking information or SIN # but still very concerned that they have my drivers licence. I’ve attached the application form they sent me as an example. No company address is stated anywhere on the forms, I was in touch over email with a lady named Shazi. I was told I was going to get a call for an interview from her but when shazi phoned me it was from a weird number and she told me I was hired and could start that day without actually doing an interview or asking any questions. I asked her what the training looks like and she brushed it off saying she didn’t understand my question. I asked her some other questions and she didn’t seem like she wanted to answer any of them, I asked her if we get paid bi-weekly or bi-monthly and she said bi-weekly and when I asked her which day of the week we get paid she said she wasn’t sure and continued to brush me off and tell me all I needed to do was sign some more documents she had sent me to set up for Interac e-transfer. I’ve attached the application form I was sent to fill out and sign & they also asked me to attach a picture of my drivers license with it. There was also a training document I had signed which looked really sketchy and then she sent me another document after our phone call asking for information to set up Interac e-transfer, which didn’t seem very legit so I did not sign that document because I realized at this point that maybe this was a scam.

A woman by the name of Nancy Betty Richardson posted about a work from home job on Facebook that I was interested in. She had me download a app called Telegram off of the App Store to contact the hiring manager through so I could interview. I thought this was a bit odd but I’ve been out of the workforce for a while so I went with it. I interviewed with a woman named Bliss Connie through Telegram. Then before giving out any personal info like SSN or Bank Numbers I contacted the business they were claiming to be from and confirmed that they did not actually work there. I have now blocked them completely.

The scammers reached out about a job on indeed. They claimed to be offering medical customer service but the website is construction. When asked about it they changed the subject. After verifying I was unemployed they asked for my bank account information to "verify direct deposit compatibility" When I didn't give them my account numbers they blocked me. What kind of evil person purposely targets unemployed people to steal from? Who purposely chooses victims that are already suffering?

Was contacted by instant messenger informing me that I would be a good fit for a data entry position and that they found my information on indeed.com

Was requested to download program telegram.org so we could do an interview. Went through the interview process via text and was offered a job position. They emailed me a job offer but wanted me to include all my bank information before proceeding.

They sent me an email asking if I wanted employment from home making $2800 a month along with $25 bonus for each package I sent out. They sent me a few packages like a brand new IPhone, perfumes, shoes, and even a table for a child. It has been almost 2 months and I have not received any money. I can no longer log onto my account and I cannot reach them threw email or phone. I just hope I don’t get charged for any of the packages because they have a lot of my personal information.

I applied to what I assumed was a legitimate job posting on LinkedIn, we first talked on LinkedIn then they had me email my resume to a Gmail account, they sent me a list of questions to answer in twenty minutes for an interview, after that was done the said I was hired and sent me a "letter of employment" and then asked for some details about my mobile deposit like per deposit limit and daily limit where I bank as well then they emailed me a check which was the first actually red flag I got besides the same day apply and hire thing

I received a job offer by email, they contacted me have me an interview sent me a welcome letter with w4. After I sent my w4 back with all of my Information on it including my socal security number address phone number name birthday drivers license number and email to start working they said they would pay my phone bill because I would be working from home then sent me a cashier's check. Once the check was not deposited into my account she stopped responding.

This is the payout date info They promised to pay me if I got a certain amount of referrals and completed a certain amount of tasks I did what I was supposed to do and I cashed out but it said that I had to wait until my payout date which is today and I never received the money in my cash app account nor have I heard anything more from the site.

I have been looking for a job and saw that they were hiring so I found out how to get set up to apply they had me install telegram app then started interview. After interview complete sent my acceptance letter for position and had me sign then asked for drivers license address and asked for banking info with login being excited to finally get a job I didn’t think and gave information to them, after an hour of them not answer I notified my bank and closed my account I know I messed up. I really hope this doesn’t hurt me

I was contacted by for a data entry position and was told to download the trillian app for interview. I was offered position and everything seemed legit. They mailed me a check for 4800 to gain the at home office equipment to start work. I deposited check into my account and was told to make purchase for RH software. I questioned the software because I had no equipment to have the software put into. I froze my account and am now in limbo I tried to reconnect with original contact and I haven’t gained any responses. I also have all emails and received information

I was recently contacted by these people from Crystal quick services. They have you open up many accounts with other banks and sometimes they’ll send you the start up money right away. They’ll ask for personal information and make the interview look legit and it’s mostly Text base interview and Audio Calls No video.The avenue they mostly use is Telegram so beware. This looks like a money laundering scheme and your just going to be the middle mule for it all using your name on accounts for all transactions. They’ll even have you go as far as opening a mailbox “for business purposes”. If you get caught up in this your likely to find yourself in Prison with everything under your name
