I am a private party and was selling a vehicle. I received two text messages from people posing as potential buyers. Caller #1 referred to himself Kenneth Carol (email *************************) stating he was interested in my vehicle, wanted to come that day to buy it, but needed me to purchase the "basic" package from elitevinreports.com ($35.71) to make sure everything was ok with the vehicle.

At the same time, I received another text message from a different buyer, posing as Arnold Steve, (email *************************) requesting a Premium Plan Report from Vinsscan in the amount of $79.99.

Upon receiving the reports, it was very obvious these were not legitimate reports, the information provided was very generic and inaccurate and the scammers now had my VIN# and credit card info. I then found this article online which matched what happened to me. https://malwaretips.com/blogs/elitevinreports-com/
