Type of a scam Phishing

Scam, real serious buyer will run their own report

Scammer contacted me after posting a vehicle for sale on Craig’s List stating they needed an EV report. I offered them to do a Carfax, DMV report or even let them have the vin and pay the $40 for a EV report themselves. They kept pushing only for EV (Carfax burned them before, they’d pay me the $40 back when they bought it but only had cash, no credit card) and stating they’d only come buy the car if they had an EV report first. Was very obvious they were just a rep trying to get me to pay the $40 for an EV report then disappear. Tried to call number I was being texted from and no VM set up. Don’t fall for it.

I’ve got one of those doing it to me right now with an area code from Washington and I’m in Missouri right after I posted my car on craigslist I got some real local offers And then this one came along and started asking for the EV are I’m glad I looked up if it was legit or not

Scammer texted me after I posted my car for sale on Craigslist. They said they were interested and had a few questions about the car. They asked one question about the mileage and then requested a title check from the fraud website elitevinchecks.com and requested it to be sent to her email address.
