Harrassing Calls and Faxes

We are a specialist office in Phoenix Arizona and we've gotten multiple faxes over a 4 month span asking for my provider to sign DME orders for a patient and harrassing phone calls demanding for my provider to sign the order by a certain date. I called the patient's daughter, and neither her or patient ordered from this company. The daughter did say patient had been getting calls from a company saying they could "free" braces from Medicare but patient never ordered/wanted any braces. It's really sad for companies to prey on elderly people and take advantage of them.

Type of a scam: Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

Scammer goes by the name Elite Medical Supplies, elite-medicalsupplies.net, phone (518) 545-5247 & 855-205-1880 Fax (307) 785-2449 & (631) 504-0587. suppose representative name is Max Miller. They keep faxing over an order request for lumbar brace and knee brace which patient has not been seen for. They also send an evaluation for for the provider to sign off on. They have been faxing our office for the last month. The order request looks like all of the other DME scammers request.

A fax was sent to the Orthopaedic physicians office and requested a signature for a brace. The fax was also asking for the patients last office note and attached a letter written from the doctor for the doctor to sign. The sheet included the patients home address, phone number and medicare ID number.

We are a primary care office in Annapolis, MD. Elite Medical Supplies contacted our office via fax requesting signatures for orders for a Lumbar, Knee, Wrist and Shoulder orthosis that neither the patient or our office requested or authorized. Elite Medical Supplies has repeatedly faxed and called our office regarding this to which we have simply replied that the patient is not interested. The patient, in fact, was never contacted by Elite Medical Supplies regarding this. I have seen similar scams in the past where they will bill Medicare for these orthosis. The patient's personal and Medicare information including Medicare ID#, home address, DOB, phone #, height and weight were all compromised.
