Literally the exact same play by play as stated by Zoggy’s report. Should’ve trusted my gut from the beginning but unfortunately my desire to help someone who didn’t have similar privileges was used as a means for deceit. He pulled my daughter into it, as well, asking her which “local nursing home we wanted to choose to support” which to me is another level of corruption altogether. I so want to believe the best of people but situations like this are so defeating.

I have the same story! I had just come home the store and as I got out of my car, a heavy-set black man in his 20's-30s called me by my name, which surprised me. He said, "Your neighbor Miss M helped me out. She said you are very nice and would want to help me out too." I thought maybe he wanted to mow my lawn so I asked what he needed help with. He said his name was James McKenzie and he was selling magazine subscriptions to get points to go to culinary school. He said his dream was to open a soul food restaurant. Like others have said, he seemed a little "slow" or slightly intellectually disabled. He was polite, kind and endearing. He told me he was from Alabama and his grandmother had taught him how to cook. He handed me this dirty, tattered card with pictures of magazines. I asked how much they were and he said $59. He then asked me if he could sit down on my porch for a minute. Once we sat down he started telling me about how all my neighbors had helped him out. He showed me the yellow receipts. He literally had learned all my neighbor's names and told me things they talked about. He said, "Your neighbor, Miss A who owns the restaurant really wanted to help me open a restaurant too." He said, "The two brothers down the street said y'all don't have a soul food restaurant here and they wanted to help me too." (I think the "two brothers" are my gay neighbors, LOL.) He told me everyone had helped him. It made me want to help him out too. I think that's his con. Can't believe I fell for it!

I asked him how would I pay and he told me I had to pick out a 2nd magazine. The price went from $59 to $116. I should have known it was a scam then. I said I would pay through Zelle, but I couldn't figure out what to put for first name/last name. He called his boss and the guy said to put Crystal Hall as the first name and Elite Alliance Services, LLC as the last name. I asked who she was and he said she works for the company. If you read some of the other comments here, Crystal Hall responded to several people and denied that this is a scam. After he left, I Googled Elite Alliance Services, LLC Scam. I clicked on ScamPulse and saw all these comments! I was shocked that one of the comments was from 2022. This guy has been around a while. I'm so glad I found out it was a scam early enough to dispute the charge at my bank. I told all my neighbors to do the same. Our homeowners Association sent an email warning people and I posted this story on Nextdoor and also my town's Facebook page. It's not clear if he's a real scammer or if he works for scammers who are taking advantage of him. None the less, it's a crime.

Like others we subscribed to magazines in November 2023. As of today 2/27/24 we have only received one of multiple subscriptions. Will repeat a prior comment:
"Door to door person was James McKenzie. We invited him in and he explained that he would get $1000. to help him go to Culinary School if he had enough sales." Like others we wanted to help him out. Would love to know if its legit or not. Have there been any responses to calling the # on the receipts? 602-341-7686?

I experienced the same thing by the same sales gentleman, James McKenzie on 11/19/23. Felt off about the whole situation but he was trying hard to make it to Culinary School. I spent $256 to help and it was going to my grandkids who have been looking forward to their magazines. This is ridiculous and should have cancelled it right away going off my gut feeling! Email was bounced back, website shows scam and no phone call return either.

On June 23, 2023, we purchased 3 magazines from a young man named, James McKenzie. He came across as a little “slow”. We invited him in and he explained that he would get $1000. to help him go to Culinary School if he had enough sales .
My husband and I were very reluctant at first, but we wanted him to succeed, so we signed up. We ended up paying $192.00,

James told us that we could expect our magazines about the end of September or beginning of October.
It is now December 8th.

I tried emailing the address listed and it didn’t send because it’s not an actual email address. I tried calling, but no answer. I’m very frustrated that we fell for this. I’m also so disappointed that we are out of $192.00!

I hope this company gets shut down for scamming people!

We bought 3 subscriptions totaling $192.00! That was June 23, 2023.
The young man acted like he was “slow” and told us he was raising money for Culinary school. He sat down and talked to us for about a half hour. He told us to expect out magazines to start arriving about the end of September. It’s now Dec 8.
I’ve tried the only email that was given
[email protected]
Only to find out it’s not even a real email address!
I’ve also called and left a voicemail on the phone number listed #602-242-7686.
I can’t believe I fell for this We normally don’t EVER buy anything door to door, but he seemed “special” and very excited about school!
$192.00 we are out! At this point I want my money back and will be very suspicious of everyone.

Neighborhood forbid and signage as to such Door to Door Solicitations.
I was willing to help if magazines went to Senior Homes but after reading Complaints and hearing there was no way to verify, I canceled payment.
Company should be ashamed to give these Sales people a script about going to Culinary School and making people feel sorry for them.
The Price for these Magazines is way above what you could get yourself online.

I too have the same experience. A man came to my door selling magazines. He said it was for tuition to culinary school. I ordered two checks, paid by check. the checks were cashed. The form/receipt says to contact [email protected] but that is not a valid address. The magazines were ordered on 3/19/22 but no magazines have been received. Several other neighbors in my neighborhood report the same experience.

I purchased a magazine on 5/2/22 for $60. My check was deposited and deducted from my account twice. Tried to send an email, but was told it wasn't a valid address. Left a voice mail today and hope to get a return call. I need the second deposit to be reversed.

I wrote out a check for $180 to purchase three magazines to be sent to senior Homes. I was to get a call from them before anything was processed and I did not. I sent Notice of cancellation the very next day plus I have called them 3 times unable to reach anyone nor receive a return call from them . my check was cashed at my back just 3 days after they came to my house.

I am confused on this as you were refunded and sent a money order back in December of 2021, I apologize that you feel this way, but it is completely incorrect but as the internet goes I guess you can post anything. Here is the copy of your money order your received.

Young man, seemed slightly disabled, came to my house selling magazines, said he received points which would allow him to attend culinary school. He stayed a long time, chatting about himself. I ogave him two checks totally $110 on 10/03/20 and never received the magazines. I've emailed, called, no reply. There are many complaints online, I should have looked after I he left and called my bank.

We do not call and verify every order just the ones that seem to have a question attached to them. Your orders are gifted to 1 or several senior homes in the Georgia or surrounding states. We have only been using email, and online for customer care with our website. There is not a customer care phone number to call. You can contact us via our website or email both are listed on the receipt.
