We called to set up our electric for an apartment, he asked the exact address and apartment number that i needed set up, he then asked for my social security number. After all of this, he then says that we need to put a deposit of $250 down before we can set up our utilities. so we then provided him our debit card number, and bank account number. He then said we would be unable to set up an account because they don’t take discover cards. we said fine and hung up the phone. soon after $300 was taken out of the bank account. We called back soon after, asking what company he worked for and he took a long time to think before saying “National Grid,” however the company name that took the money out was “Peco.” And when we called Peco, they stated they do not ask for a down payment. He also never provided his name and when asked why the money was taken out, he didn’t have an answer and said he would “refund” it.
