I received an email supposedly from MyChart stating if I completed a survey about MyChart I would receive a free Medicare Kit. Since I use MyChart I completed the survey and was told all I needed to do was pay shipping and handling. I paid. I get alerts for all my charges. When the alert came in the charge was to Effortless Chic Fashion. I looked them up and called them. They said the $14.95 was an entry fee to a contest and if I was selected, the amount would also cover shipping. The email said nothing about a contest. I ask how many winners there would be and apparently there is only one! Although the rep I spoke to didn’t actually say that, she implied it. Can you imagine the number of people who paid the “fee”? This isn’t about my $14.95 but all the $14.95s they will receive. I have contacted Citi Bank and when the charge is posted I will challenge it. However, I hope this action will help others and they will get some kind of negative action.
