Type of a scam Employment
I would like to formally report a potential job scam. I was recently contacted regarding a remote job opportunity with a company called EcoSurg LLC, allegedly located at 20 Dudley St, Memphis, TN. The hiring process was extremely quick and did not include a real interview. I was sent a job offer letter and was told that I would receive a check to purchase a required software license as part of my onboarding process.
They instructed me to deposit the check into my personal bank account and forward part of the funds to a third party, which immediately raised concerns.
Upon further investigation, I discovered that:
There is no verifiable business registered at that address under the name “EcoSurg LLC.”
The company has no online presence (no LinkedIn, website, or ScamPulse.com listing).
The documents and communication included red flags typical of employment scams.
I believe this to be a fraudulent scheme meant to steal money using a counterfeit check, and I am reporting this to help prevent others from falling victim.
I am willing to provide the offer letter, onboarding documents, and any relevant communication for investigation purposes if needed.
