Found ad on Facebook Marketplace for 20' shipping/storage container sold by ECOSTEEL CONTAINERS in Denver, CO. Called phone # posted and spoke with sales rep. They had local address on web site. Checked out web site, looked legit and address used on web site was a physical address of a container business in Colorado. They emailed invoice and required full payment of $2,600 by wire. Called their bank, Wells Fargo, and they had an account so that appeared ok. Sales rep claimed to be local and knowledable, and spoke perfect english and likely American. Wired money and then they said it couldn't be found on their end and required proof. Sales rep no longer answered phone. Called alternate phone # and spoke with office/billing rep that was of Indian decent. Sent proof of payment over multiple days, which was long enough for them for them to transfer $2,600 out of their bank account and overseas. They will no longer answer phone, emails, etc. and container never arrived. Googled address on Invoice to find owner/business operating at that address. They have never heard of ECOSTEEL CONTAINERS and they address was being used illegally in the scam.
