My grandparent searched the internet for a car rental at the Las Vegas airport. He found this phone number promising $25/day but required you to pay with a prepaid debit card. The person on the phone was unable to explain why and could not provide further information. My grandparent did give them personal information but stopped before giving money.

They tried to rent a car out to me they asked me for my credit card information or to purchase a go to bank account to make a payment. They claim they were located at RDU airport terminal two second floor.

On April 24th I contacted E Car Rental, I spoke to David Davitz (alsocalledhimselfSmith), They asked me to send a payment for the rental car on Zelle in the amount of $305. I sent that payment to Charles Meneese registered as Charles Meneese Bell at 312 2216706, The deducted the $305 fee from my Chase bank. They then claimed the money was never received. I have been calling them and they refuse to divulge their email address or the address oft heir business. They hang up on me. Ibelieve they re a fraudulent business, I believe they do not rent cars at all. They're message says "Your payment requires additional review. We'll contact you if we need more info."

I called about a rental car. A woman answered the call. I went through my details. She said she would have to talk to a supervisor because I was going to pay with a debit card. A long wait on the phone and someone named "Jay" said he had a car at $21/day, but it was cheaper to rent by the week. The debit card was going to require a $250 hold and the car was $175 for the week. Then he said if I got a Go2bank card, he would give me a discount. I told him I couldn't get a Go2bank card this day, but if I had it when I returned the car, would I get a refund for the discount. I gave him my debit card bank info. He told me once I was approved, the car would be scheduled for delivery to my house, for which I gave him my address. After numerous back & forth calls, he had excuses, such as "take a call from a customer with a broken down car" as to why he had to hang up and call back. When he called back he said there were insufficient funds in my account. I called the bank as I had recently deposited a large check and thought it might not have fully cleared. That's when I learned the whole thing was a scam. "Jay" had tried to withdraw $1000 from my bank account. Fortunately, the bank picked up on it and sent an alert to me. I spoke to the bank to find out what had happened. I was lucky the scammer didn't actually get any money from me but they did get personal financial information, my home address etc.

I looked on line and see that the number I called is the same number others have reported with this car rental scam.
