I am writing to warn consumers about a sophisticated brushing scam involving duplicated tracking numbers. I placed a legitimate order with Old Navy, which arrived correctly. However, a few days later, a second, unexpected package arrived via the exact same UPS tracking number. This duplicate package had my correct name and address on it, but contained a completely random, non-Old Navy item. The package had absolutely no branding, company names, or return addresses on the inside or the outside—only a half slip of paper with a generic barcode. This is a known brushing scam where scammers scrape live tracking data to send junk mail, using the "delivered" status to write fake verified reviews under the victim's identity. Consumers should be highly vigilant if they receive a secondary, anonymous package sharing a tracking number from a real order they recently placed. Do not scan the barcode inside.
