We're in East York. A young man knocked on the door and said our chimney is falling and we needed it removed. He quoted 800 on the day his crew removed the chimney he then said there's a lot of damage under the chimney and it now costs 2000. We told him we can't afford *** ** ******* **** **** *** ***. His insisted and at this point our roof was open. I pleaded with him. He agreed to 1500 cash claiming they wouldn't make a cent that day... and that they would seal it correctly. 6 weeks later we had water leaking in right at that chimney whole that they left... so much water damage. He also lied about what a roof would cost to further scare us. He said 20,000... we have a small house. It was 6000 ...when the real roofers came! Really sucks to be scammed right after losing your job and a scam that causes further damage. Look out for Doug with an accent from Newfoundland.
