This Person claimed to be a friend of a friend. When I asked the person a few questions she answered as if she was really the person I knew. She even sent pictures of her and her husband when I asked her if this was for real. Once I was convinced this was legit, she told me to contact this person through WhatsApp. They said WhatsApp was secure and private. They asked me to fill out a form and to text them the answers. The scammer was very persistent and made me fill like I had to hurry or I may miss the prize. They keep you on the phone which made me feel like they may have even been trying to track my phone. - They seemed to always know where I was.

They told me I had won a large amount of money but I had to send $3,500 for the taxes before they would send me the money. I was informed that I needed to purchase gift cards to cover the amount. After sending the $3,500 worth of gift cards they asked for more money, totaling $13K. During the time I was sending the $13k my "friend" would frequently ask me if I had received my prize. "She" empathized with me and would tell me to stay stong, that I would receive it soon.

Once I started to doubt everything I contacted my friend who is friends with this person "Imposter". After talking to her I was able to confirm that this was in fact a scam. I even noticed that when I would click to message this "friend" it would go to her messages but her picture would disappear.
Now that they know I have caught on they have quit contacting me.

He is said he works for the government at DHHS and for me not to share this info with anyone
