Type of a scam Utility

I was trying to pay my Dominion Energy Ohio bill. I called the phone number on my statement. Their number is 800-362-7557. I accidentally dialed 800-362-7575. I thought I was calling Dominion. I reached an automated recording. The message was to receive a $100 gift card. I don't remember what the gift card was for. Press one for further information. I pressed one. A man named Sam Rogers came on the line. I asked is this Dominion. I'm trying to pay my bill. He answered yes this is Dominion. He said our website is down. He had to enter my information manually. He asked for my debt card number. I gave it out. I usually pay with my debit car. He also asked for my email and my birthday. I became suspicious when he asked for my birthday. I questioned him and he hung up. I called back. I called back 800-362-7575. Sam Rogers answered. I said why did you say you are Dominion when you aren't. He hung up. I called Dominion Energy Ohio and told them what happened. I told her the number I dialed. That is when I realized I called the wrong phone number for Dominion Energy Ohio. I called my bank and reported it. If you call that number you will get the scammer.
