Natera sent me a bill for $1590 for genetic testing I had done through my doctor's office. They told me if I paid within 30 days, that I would only owe $249. I decided to take them up on their offer, so I went online to their website and typed in my case number, but it showed that I owed $3600. I called their customer service line and the man claimed that the displayed price was wrong and he was unable to fix it so I could just pay it over the phone. I did not feel comfortable paying over the phone, so he said his "boss" would fix it in 5-7 business days. I checked the website every single day for the next two weeks and nothing was ever changed. I emailed the address listed on their paper statement and website, but never heard a response. I forgot about it after a while, but then a year later I am being mailed more statements saying "past due" and seemingly fake emails from "[email protected]". They are saying that my bill is past due and I need to pay it or I may be sent to a collections agency. I called the customer service line again and spoke to a lady who said that she "would help me out and give me the price of $249 but she had to generate a link and tell her the verification code". I have heard a lot of scammers using this type of language lately, so I had a feeling this may be a scam and hung up the phone. I don't know whether this is a scam or not, I just feel like a company would not have to ask for a verification code from their own link?
