We hired the guy to paint our deck and porch and gave him $1,000 deposit (his receipt doesn't say anything about a non-refundable security deposit). When he came to start the job he found unexpected wood rot on our deck which had to be replaced before any painting can be done. After reviewing the costs to fix the deck, we cancelled his services so we could repair the deck first. When we notified him of cancelling the work, he stopped responding. We tried calling him over 30 times and sent him numerous private messages on FaceBook over a 5 day period of him not responding. He then blocked our phone number and blocked us from his FB pages.
