This call was received at least three times prior to the last call. I normally hung up, but was in the middle of making dinner and did not check into it. Instead I turned the call over to my spouse who put the call on speaker. The offer was a two year monthly payment of $44.95 which would cover all the current things we receive with our account plus more...i.e. Netflix, Movies, etc. We were told that they needed to give us some card number from Ebay to authorize this discount and that we needed to pay $180 up front for the first four months payment. Flags started to go up when he kept repeating that the we needed to authorize $180 and I am calculating that $44.95 times 4 is $179.80. He got really pushy when I said I was not interested and I hung up.

We did not give him any personal information, but later in the evening I contacted Directv/ATT and was advised that this was a scam. They will be monitoring our account and asked us to call them back if we receive any further calls like this referencing us as a Directv customer.

I received a text saying I could get 50% discount on Directv and AT&T bill by redeeming this Promo code:EBAY,call before promo expires. I called and they asked for my passcode which I gave, they explained the promotion and that with this promo all the movies channels would be available, I immediately went to check after they put me on hold and noticed the channels were on immediately so I assumed it was actually legit.. When I called the AT&T today after realizing I was scammed, the agent said once I gave my security code they put me on hold and called At&t and had them turned on.. I told the guy it took minutes for them to do this while I was on the phone and I find out this has been going on for a while now and they haven't caught on and done their own investigation and changed protocol. It's all on me and I am happy to say I will be even more careful and slower to respond...

Received a call from individual with a heavy India accent about a deal for my DirecTV service. Promised to drop monthly payment to $69.99 for two years if I would make a single payment of $350 for five months of service via an Ebay Gift Card. Was transferred to a "supervisor" with a similar accent that confirmed the service and promised a $150 Visa gift card sent to my home address, which they had, if I would make the one time payment within 4 hours. I contacted DirecTV and they verified that the call was a scam. The same individual (heavy accent) had previously contacted me a couple of days earlier but I was unable to talk at that time.

Scammers called using the Directv main number. Offered me reduced monthly payments for 24 months with movie channels including my AT&T internet as part of the package but had to pay using an Amazon gift card (since this was a promotion with Amazon). Had to pay 4 months in advance and reduced rate would remain for the last 20 months. Very professional tranferring me from Sales to Promotions to Billing. They used a promotion code and the same language Directv/AT&T uses when discussing packages, etc. They were even going to send me a $100 Visa gift card for being a part of this promotional test market (sounded all legit). I had the option of having Amazon mail me the gift card or could do online immediately to redeem. I choose to redeem online.
