Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

My mother was called by a woman who stated that she had missed a payment their services (advertising for her boss' business) for $625.00 back in March. They had a recording of her agreeing to their terms and services to prove she did, but she had no recollection of it. She now believes they put the recording together based on a previous call from a previous business name. They were intimidating over the phone. My mother thought it was strange, so she looked up the number online, and the website looked professional and legitimate to her, so she initially believed it and contacted me to do some research. The website is a standard bootstrap-like template and their tactics over the phone were clever. We got in contact with someone in the ScamPulse.com and he posed as her boss over the phone. He concluded it was a scam. We were able to close the credit card account before the money was taken out.

Note: They play back a recording of your voice agreeing to the terms. They say they sent an invoice/email a long time ago (they didn't). They ask for a fax number to send a fax of the receipt (they didn't). They ask for the credit card information (we closed the account afterward, just in case). They even said if she paid $500 right there, they would waive the rest of the charge.
