Type of a scam Debt Collections
I responded that I didn't recall a recent radiology visit and asked them to send details.
They replied that I should call to speak with an agent and gave the same 888 number. I called. They hung up the first time right away. I called again. They hung up the second time after I entered an account # and my DOB, then they were supposedly transferring me to an agent, but hung up instead.
They sent another text as a "friendly reminder" on 1/29/2025 stating the balance of the bill ($366.00) and a similar (but different website address to pay https://.mdpaybill.net/70718BE1 Again, this took me to a convincing-looking website called pay.imaginepay.com and wanted me to enter my birthdate or "create an account" which wanted even more information. I did enter my birthdate, hoping to see an invoice, but it only told me what I owed. I decided not to create an account. I have not sent any money. I called the 888 number again, and got a pleasant young man who actually answered. When he asked my birthdate, I asked his location. He said it was a billing office in Mexico. I said I wanted to speak directly to the Diagnostic Radiologists office. He confirmed that they were in Portland and gave me a number. I called that number for Adventist Health and it was a number that was no longer in service. It gave several other numbers. I called the most likely one and it also is no longer in service. I called another and was able to leave a message to get a call back. We shall see. . . I believe this to be a scam!
