An acquaintance who is seeking asylum was given a sheet of paper with information about DAN or MSMA or DC Mutual Aid. She asked me to call to verify if they are scammers or not. When I called, a lady answered in Spanish. I told her that I do not speak Spanish, so she immediately switched to English. (She sounds like a White Caucasian.) I asked her to please tell me a little bit more about DAN or MSMA, such as what services do they provide and how they were formed. She became irate and yelled at me to look at the website, but she couldn't remember the website address and started stuttering. I said that was curious that she could not tell me about an organization that is formed to help people and couldn't remember the website. She hung up on me. I probably should have stopped as soon as she became irate.
