I thought I was submitting a book manuscript to a very reputable self-publisher in the UK, Matador Publishing, an affiliate of Troubador Publishing in the Leicester England. They pretended to be this company in the UK the month they were editing my book and claimed because of the time difference they had a project manager in the USA to accommodate their authors. But as we progressed they began to pressure me for more money (double my contract fee) and when I wouldn't pay them, they made various attempts to steal my work by trying to get access to Bowker Identifiers and my ISBN account to add themselves as author/contributor/publisher of my book. They were so pushy and unprofessional that I suspected they were a scam, so after digging deeper online I learned they've been impersonating the now retired Matador Publishing in the UK for many months and I've read many testimonies online of other people having their work stolen, money stolen and various threats from them. I sent them a signed Cancellation of Contract based on Fraud and Material Misrepresentation but only received an email back assuring me they were in the UK. And I've also corresponded with Troubador Publishing who said they've been aware of this scam for many months now. I have reported this to the FBI and FTC as their address does not exist nor is there any information about their parent company online. Sadly they have my manuscript and although I've copyrighted my book, I fear it will take expensive legal action if they steal any of it. Please pursue these scammers and shut them down before they do anymore harm. Thank you, ***** ******
