I am writing this on behalf of my Mother who was the target of this scam. She does not have internet. We were told by our local police department to also contact our State Attorney General's office, but also wanted to post this here.

"Someone who identified himself as Danny Morgan said he was calling on behalf of my grandson who was in a wreck and had a broken nose and needed $6500.00 cash. I should get the cash; put it in two manila envelopes and call Danny Morgan back at 980-261-1620 for instructions. (Danny Morgan also said he was in Massachusetts, but that phone number tracks back to North Carolina.) I questioned this and told him I felt this was a scam and that my grandson wouldn't give my name or phone number. This person said that my grandson didn't want his parents to know. I did not send money. I did not call him back. My grandsons are both at home and are fine. My daughter looked up this name (Danny Morgan) on the web and found this was a scam dating back to 2019."

Person impersonated bail bondsman, and told story that grandson...knew his name...had been caught with a DUI and needed $8500 for bail money. Grandparent was told that this was the grandsons one jail phone call and he did not want his family to know because it would be too embarrassing. Money was to be sent as cash in a padded manilla envelope.

Entered by ScamPulse.com Staff-NMS- Received a call from Attorney Danny Morgan. He told me my grandson Allan was arrested in Connecticut & needed bail money. I asked the caller where he got his law degree & he said it was none of my business. Don' t have a grandson Allan & no one in Connecticut.

An attorney, Danny Morgan, called saying my 12-year old grandson was arrested for drinking was in an accident in South Carolina. The attorney told me to not let his parents know. The attorney wanted us to send $7000.00 to get out of jail. After realizing this was a scam, my daughter found this scam online that occurred in 2019.
