As a so called friend he asked me to assist him with a photo shoot. The whole time he was barking orders at me and expecting me to do all his shopping for the event and for his personal use. He offered me the company credit card, which he never handed over (because it, like the company, doesn’t exist). So thinking I was doing the right thing I go running around Caloundra looking for alcohol and food and accessories for his performance he was putting on. And paid for it all too, with the notion that he was going to pay on invoice at the end.
During the actual event, and in preparation leading up to it, Daniel would be rude, arrogant and abusive because he would expect everyone to know what was going on in his head. He wanted particular music playing from one system, and footage to be taken on another. Both systems were code locked and no one was given the code. He spent a good 45min setting that all up, and then went back to the apartment to flirt with someone he was trying to impress for the last few days.
I then went and looked at what he had set up, because I noticed it wouldn’t do what he wanted, and considering I was operating the second piece of equipment the issue would have been mine (not his) as it has been so for many others in the past.
I approached him and asked what he wanted, and then asked why he had set it up differently to that. He lunged straight into abuse, accusing me to have changed the setup. Of course this was absurd because he was the only one with the codes to get into the settings. He did this in front of the person he was flirting with, to try gain something - beats me what. He argued even further when I said that he was the only one that could get in to do any of what he was accusing me of, and, if i had gone and changed it then why would I tell him about it.
Jump to the end of the weekend. I present him with receipts from what I had spent and he asks me to invoice his dad (which I have done in the past), but he deliberately gives me the wrong email. He has forgotten I have done this in the past, and already have his dads email. He then asked me to forward the email to him at his gmail address and not his DA address, which was the address he has had me use in the past.
For the personal items he owed me for, he was to pay a partial amount of $500. He literally had all this set up on his phone to pay me, as he showed me, but when he went to pay he changed $500 to $50. He since has not payed any balance of the personal amount and none of the business amount.
He has not paid me or another friend anything for our work. He even demanded I buy new clothes for the evening costing $200, of which he didn’t reimburse me for either.
This is not the first time Daniel has deliberately stolen from me. He often asks you to get things for him, and once it’s in his possession he will try ditch you wherever possible. The last time he did that, he dropped me at a station (with some ridiculous crazy excuse that didn’t make sense), and left me there waiting for him because he hadn’t paid for what he just got, off me, as requested to collect on my way over. He never showed back up.
Turns out he never got all the footage from me at completion of the event. He never even asked me for what was missing. He had made a deal with the apartments to get a free room for the event, by where he had stated he would showcase the complex. The complex didn’t even appear in any footage (literally not even a wall). So out of that weekend he managed to get all of that work and all of that items including the apartment for free because everybody else paid for instead.
He has only ever thrown abuse at me when I have requested that he pay for the stuff he owed me. I have not received any further money
