I was approached on TikTok after making a comment about some struggles I was facing. He asked me to download the app Telegram and gave me his username. We began talking and he asked about my struggles and seemed very sincere about being a friend to me during this terrible time. He then said that if he were to give me this amount of money, how would I use it. I explained how badly I needed a car and just simply household items and what not for my son and I. Even just a booster seat. He sent me a picture that he had sent $20,000 and then continued telling me that I needed to accept it through some mining thing and pay $200 first. He asked if I was willing to lose $20,000 for only $200. It took multiple times of me explaining I didn’t know what to do, I didn’t have $200 and that I was googling this to “help figure it out”. Which wasn’t true at all, I was just seeing what he would say. I know that when friends who aren’t already friends of mine on Venmo have sent me money, they had needed my last 4 of my phone number. Once I read an article that said every thing that he had been doing and saying to me, I let him know that this was a horrible thing to do to someone who is going through what I’m going through as a single mom and that I was reporting him. I then looked at his profile and his phone number is hidden. I feel so stupid. But he knew I was desperate and knew that. He also started off with asking if I had Cashapp and I didn’t. His name is the same on all apps.
