husband was doing lawn work. Mr. Escobar offered to lay mulch for $7 a bag. Next thing you know, several workers jump out of his truck and start throwing down mulch bag after bag. My husband was confused and tried to figure out what they were doing. He even fell into one of our bushes while trying to assist. When all was said in done, the cost for this set up was $4,950! Confused my husband told me he didn't have any idea the cost would exceed $1,000. Mr. Escobar stated he would be back to trim all the shrubbery and lay the decomposed granite he promised but has never returned. This is elderly abuse
Approached renter with offer of $7/bag of fertilizer. When asked for estimate completed all of the work, proceeded to spread 375 bags on lawn and THEN presented estimate of $2600+ Bait and switch operation with high pressure sales tactics. Legal term 'officious intermeddler'.
Do not allow these individuals to do work on your home without written estimate BEFORE work completed.
