Apparently attempted to make a $39 US charge to my Canadian MasterCard credit card

Sunday mid afternoon but my bank blocked it and my card as suspicious. They confirmed with me I had no transaction with sofrsfun. It appears to be link with my trying to activate my access to the new New York Times paywall for podcasts when claimed they needed me to confirm my credit card details but no charge would be applied. After confirmation I was dumped on a webpage for media-hyve.com with a selection of media content, none of which referenced the NYT nor the podcast I had tried to access that forced this "validation". I will pursue NYT to verify if this was an expected path to follow for pass their paywall.
