I was using multiple websites to look for remote or work from home jobs. I received a text from Vanessa Wright regarding an opportunity and was instructed to contact Alex Neer via the Microsoft Teams app. I downloaded the app and reached out to Mr. Neer. We began chatting via the app and I did an interview and was told I have the job. The next day I was starting the process and Mr. Neer reached out to me that morning via Microsoft Teams and informed me I should have received an email with my job offer from Taylor. I found the email and read it from Taylor Alexander. I signed the offer letter, filled out the W-4 form, and sent a pictureof the front and back of my Driver's License. I confirmed with Mr. Neer I completed the forms and submitted them and he gave more information about the position and told me I would receive a check for equipment to set up my work space and a sign on bonus via fedex and he would provide me the tracking number. On January 30,2024, Mr. Neer again sends me a chat that morning letting me know the fedex would be coming that morning and gave me the tracking number. I was instructed to monitor the tracking to ensure I received the package. Once I did I was to contact him. When I got it I replied via chat I received it and was told to send over a picture of the check and to go to the bank and deposit the check. I did this and received a receipt that stated a hold was placed on the check. He told me to send a copy of the receipt. I did so, and the next day he reaches out to me for an update on the check. Later that day my husband transferred money into my account but when I went online to see if it postrd I couldnt login. I called the number on the back of my bank card and was immediately routed to a live representative who informed me my account was pending closure due to a deposit of an invalid check. The transfer never went through and I couldn't use my bank card anymore. I reached out to Mr. Neer informing him of the situation and he blamed the bank and me. When I asked for a contact number for the bank to call and clear this up he beat around the bush and never supplied a phone number.
