Clear Gene Reports & Reviews (7)

I received an email today from [email protected] and they had CCd 24 other people/email address. The title was "Clear Gene Inc. Employment Opportunities". I was excited because I've applied to many remote positions from both Indeed and LinkedIn and I was hopeful that this would be a good fit, finally. However, after reading the email I became suspicious and decided to do some research. The email says:

"We’ve reviewed your application; you’ve made it to the NEXT STEP for the
position of a Customer Service Representative/ Data Entry. You are
required to download and set up ‘TELEGRAM MESSENGER’ from your app store
with your name.
Search and add Mrs. Julia Wilson by her username
https://t.me/Julia_ClearGeneInc to connect with her for the interview.
She will be waiting to hear from you.
Your Job ID is ‘CLR-0011-G’
Best of luck.

Clear Gene, Inc."

Everything about the email had my antennas on HIGH ALERT and I had to research. Luckily I came across this forum! I responded back "[email protected]" as well as the 24 other email address/people attached alerting them of this scam. Sharing is caring right? Hopefully whomever they are stops & hopefully my email has helped someone else.

This happened to me yesterday and today.

I found this job posting Clear Gene - Data Entry - Remote on LinkedIn and applied.

This is the message I received yesterday from LinkedIn:

"We’ve reviewed your application; you’ve made it to the NEXT STEP for the
position of a Customer Service Representative/ Data Entry. You are
required to download and set up ‘TELEGRAM MESSENGER’ from your app store
with your name. Search and add Mrs. Julia Wilson by her username
https://t.me/Julia_ClearGeneInc to connect with her for the interview.
She will be waiting to hear from you.
Your Job ID is ‘CLR-0011-G’
Best of luck".

I went through with the interview via Telegram app yesterday, with Julia Wilson. I found this method was odd. To be honest, I thought it was just a recruiter asking questions to prepare me for a real interview with their boss via Zoom. Only to learn it was the actual interview. I was told congratulations, you’re hired and to be on Telegram for my Training Manager @ 7am this morning. I’m like how are they going to train me on this app. Then I discovered that the app has video. The training manager that went by the name of Gregory Anderson, comes on and ask me questions that a real job interviewer would ask. Then he proceeds to tell me that they will send me a check so I can order all the necessary office items from their vendor. Then, Gregory asks me for my email address so he can send the employment form to fill-out. He also, asked which bank do I used to see if it's in conjunction with there’s. So, far I gave my full name, address, email, cell phone number and the name of my bank. Gregory, said once I get the forms, fill them out and email it back to him. Full name, address, email, phone number, social security number, sex, race, D.O.B., are you an U.S. citizen, etc., all to be fill-out. I received the forms via email, which, looked legit except the Company’s logo was distorted and a lot of different fonts. I'm like ok something doesn’t seem right. I had my daughter look at the forms and research the company. The Company website and Company itself is ALL FAKE!

On LinkedIn for the company's staff members, they have "LinkedIn Member" as their name next to pic. Major company will not have their staff with "LinkedIn Member" as the name. Gregory, text me asking, if I finished the forms yet. My daughter had the same feeling, like this is a scam. So, she told me to test him. My daughter, said to text back, that I will send the forms back tomorrow, since I don’t have a printer. Gregory, proceeded to tell me to write my information on a piece of paper, take a picture and e-mail him that. My daughter and I looked at each other and said "SCAM"! Then, my daughter took over and texted Gregory, asking him to send over the company’s Tax ID number. He replied, that he haven’t received the employment forms with my info., as of yet. My daughter, then responded, "while, I'm emailing the forms to you, in the meantime send the Company’s Tax ID number". Gregory replied "okay". Of course we never emailed him the info that was required on the forms. Gregory Anderson and Julia Wilson, never returned back to the chat on Telegram. They realized that I was on to them. I was so upset. I gave a lot of my personal info. I called my bank letting them know, what happened. They assured me since, I have other security measures on my accounts and I didn't give my account and card number, I'm good and they also noted my account. However, I did changed my passcode and added 2-factor login recognition on my email. With all the info they had, they could hack my email, which I changed email address, on my LinkedIn account.

It is so, sad that these scammers prey on people, and on trusted job posting websites. I can't even imagine how much money they scammed people out of.

I reported them on all platforms they are advertising on.

I pray this helps, so the next person will not become a victim!

First, I received this random text message.

"Thank you for applying to our job post, We are impressed by your background and would like to invite you for the job briefing and interview at Clear Gene Inc. You made it to the Next step for the position of Customer Service Representative/Data Entry, Are you interested in proceeding? You are required to download and set up TELEGRAM on your app store (https://telegram.org/) and if you have one already, use it. Add Mrs Mikayla Kudia (@MikaylaKudia_ClearGeneInc) and connect with her for your interview. Your Job ID is (REQ-101). She will be expecting to hear from you soon. Best of luck!"

I have been sending my resume to a lot of job openings lately so I was thrilled at finally getting a response. This excitement also caused me to ignore numerous red flags even in this message.

So after signing up for telegram etc. I received this.

"Welcome to Clear Gene Inc
My name is Mrs, Mikayla Kudia, the HR Manager of Clear Gene Inc. I’ll be conducting the Interview and will also provide you with more details on the company and the open position. How are you doing today and what is your Interview Code?"

And later I got this offer.

"Alright. This is a Remote Position where you'll be working for Clear Gene Inc from home. If you wish to work from an office, you will be required to relocate to our branch in SAN CARLOS CA but for now, the position is fully remote, so there's no need for relocation.
The company will take full responsibilities for your Office equipment. You will be paid $18.00 per hour during training and later goes up to $28.00 per hour when you start working after 2weeks of training.
You will be required to set up your own time schedule working for Clear Gene Inc either as a Full time employee working 45hours weekly or Part time employee working 20hours weekly. Your working and training hours are flexible and can be scheduled for anytime and any-day as long as the total required working hours are completed weekly. Does that work for you?"

So we go through these fake interview questions and I am told that my responses are 90% above average 😏 and I have the job...

I'm congratulated like about 10 times, given more information about the position, and this wonderful "mini home office" that they will "shoulder the cost for." 🤭 Also, Im told of a generous benefits package which includes excellent employee discounts. 🤔 Discounts? Genetic testing for Covid 19?

Anyway, I am told that I am to meet with Ronald Powell, the training manager, the next morning at 8 am Est. on Telegram.

This guy emails me a W2 form, employment agreement, direct deposit slip... and like a real nut I send these completed forms back. I guess, I wanted it be real so bad...even ignoring their wonky communication style.

The next business day I'm sent a $4,900 check from their "Head Department " and after being asked how my day had been and how my night was...😑😒

I was asked to take a picture of the check and send it to him.
By this time I'd had enough. I let them know that I was on to them and that I'd be reporting them and their fraudulent activities. They stopped responding. I only wish I'd done this sooner.

I'm an optimist by nature but I am sadly learning that sometimes when it sounds too go to be true it is and also if their phraseology off-putting, to say the least, RUN.

Please BEWARE of Clear Gene Inc.
Beware of Clear Gene Inc.
Beware of Clear Gene Inc.

Fake employment offer. They had official paperwork, w4, all professional job paperwork you would see. They only used telegram as a way to communicate. All my personal information was given. Please beware and take caution. I am not one to fall for scams as I am very cautious.

Clear Gene Inc was a listing on Indeed.com, advertising a Remote Position for a Data Entry Clerk/Customer Service Representative/Administrative Assistant. The ad seemed very legitimate, asking any question that other jobs of the same caliber were, including salary.

I was contacted today 10/20/22 by text telling me to download an app called Telegram and communicate with someone named Mikayla Kudia, the HR Manager at Rosebud Biosciences.

Once communication began, red flags began to happen. Messages were appearing very quickly, some grammar issues, and some punctuation.

Looking further into the company Clear Gene, there is nothing beyond their sparse website and an empty LinkedIn account.

Then there were no ties to Rosebud Biosciences, which is a real company, anywhere I could find.

Finally, looking at Rosebud Biosciences website, their HR Department site says

"Scam alert: We are aware of an entity pretending to offer interviews at our company, currently via Telegram. Know that we only contact applicants via email from email addresses with the domain @rosebudbiosci.com."

The scammer who goes by Mikayla Kudia was asking where I banked, full name, state, city, address, zip code, email address, and cell phone number.

When confronted about why there is little mention of Clear Gene Inc anywhere on the internet, Kudia replied with "Don't worry about that."

This is a scam company, a scam website, a scam LinkedIn, and a scam operation.

The exact same thing just happened to me. They even Fed-exed a check for 4,900 to "set up my mini home office".. I did not cash this check, of course, and I have reported them to the authorities.

Certain phraseologies they used were Nigerian in origin. This was a very frustrating wate of time. Be watchful of identity theft as well. I, infourtunately, gave them much more information than I should have.

In addition to Mikayla Kudia, someone possing as a Ronald Powell is also a part of the scam.

Cleargene.com...cleargeneinc.com...what a joke.

Wow. Same thing just happened to me. I wanted to do some research before giving out the rest of my information. I knew this interview was very unorthodox and knew something wasn’t right. I’m glad I didn’t finish giving out all of my personal information.
