Citibank imposter scams caller into gift card purchases
I called the number and a man answered Citibank, this is Jason.
I explained I was looking for introductory APR on another Citibank credit card. He asked to verify the account, Name, last digits of social etc. Asked if I was at a store because He saw 3 charges at different stores on that card in the last 5 minutes. Asked me about Uber and if I had an account. I said yes. Convinced me to redownload Uber for it may be breached. At one point He asked me to download HelpDesk app so He could reverse the charges.
Told Him something is wrong here and I'm going to my bank. He said, "No don't do that." Within 10 minutes I arrived at my Bank (3) separate 100.00 purchases of gift cards were made thru Google Pay. Charges are being disputed through my bank now pending.
