The scammer emailed me about a remote job opportunity for $50hr. They went through the entire onboarding process with fake HR and everything. A week later sent me papers to sign saying i got the job. Then they wanted me to scan 2 Celonis checks at $500 each and deposit the money into my account to pay for the equipment to work from home remotely. The funds were deposited into my account. Then they said to use cashapp to send the money to the purchaser so they can purchase the equipment and send it to me. After that communication stopped. A few days later the checks that were deposited were returned to the sender and i was out $1000.
