I was trying to sell a washer on Facebook marketplace for $200. I was sent a text and the person said they would pay me by Cashapp. Then I received an email saying I needed to call the phone number to get assistance to get this money. I stupidly called and they got into my phone and took out 499.99 out of my Cash app and 499.99 out of Paypal before I realized what was happening. Additionally, they took $999.99 again out of my Paypal. My credit union got back that charge, but I never got back the two withdrawals from Paypal or Cashapp for the $499.99. I have disputed it many times, but they won't return my money. Paypl even had me call back a shady non 1-800 number to report fraud. It maybe that they are in on it.
