Contacted family members for a debt that doesn't exist

Contacted family members for a debt that doesn't exist. Gave out personal information such as phone number/address to those family members to make them seem more legitimate and scared them saying that the sheriff was going to come arrest me within the hour if I didn't answer their call. Called the court house and the sheriff's office and no such debt exists.

The 888 number is supposed to be their office number, and the 812 number is the number they called me from saying they're sending the sheriff out to get me for some debt that doesn't exist.

Trying to collect a debt??? What???

They must have performed a skip trace. They landed with my husband's cell number. I called them. They wanted to collect a debt of over $1200.00 under a married name I haven't had in over 23 years. They said they were going to file a federal warrant against me to collect. I said, "Good luck. No such thing exists". She hung up on me. I check my credit files, all three of them, regularly. The 23 year old debt she was trying to collect doesn't exist.
