I am a victim who has been scammed by this person name Julio Mendoza or his alias name is blue jay. He drove a GMC silver truck license plate bleujay1. He's also recently bought the car with my money by claimed that he uses the money to buy materials. His other car is a BMW 7series black with no license plate. He will start with the quotation of home improvement by giving the license number and business name without a business card. He claimed that he will send his information via email due to he ran out of his business card. After you are agreeing to do the contract with him. At first, he will request a withdrawal as 30% of the project. I didn't know that legally, you were not supposed to give 30%. Money down for the project. He only accepts checks or cashier checks. He also would want you to break down the check amount as 2500$ each time. He will withdrawal money and claimed he will go get material. It's will take him a week or so to bring materials by he said it's because of covid-19. Once he brought some material to convince you or assure you. He will start demolished the house. If you ask about received he will never give a receipt to you by using the excuse he forgot or he will be emailed to you. He will also work only 2-3 days per week and said he will bring his staff and he never brought it. When you start to give him pressure about his job performance and timekeeping. He will claim that he wasting time looking for the materials. In my experience, I have no choice to continue business with him due to he's start demolished and work project 25%. His pattern is he will not fully complete each part of your project and his work is scattered. I am remodeling the floor and kitchen. He finished the floor but not fully complete. He installed the cabinet without installed a cabinet handle and adjust the cabinet as supposed to. He installed my stove but cannot use due to he didn't pay an electrician. He never gives receipt at all. I start to remodel on 3/2020. He has been work with my house until 7/2020. He's been off a lot by having personal issues involved. After 7/2020 I try to reach him. He just disappeared. When that happens I just found out that everything was a lie. His license number, company name, address. Moreover, he will bring you more problems by asking you for money after even he doesn't finish my house by claims that I underpaid for the project which is it's written in the contract. He's also said he has a group or crew that he works with but he's working by himself. All subcontract is the person who he found on Craiglist. He also doesn't pay or owe money to subcontract. He tells subcontractors that they will receive payment from the homeowner.
