Me too, I was a victim
When I first met him, I told him what kind of roof I wanted. The style and color ( colors)then I told him to checkout the roofs around where I used to live. The first day, on Friday, he asked for $8,000.00. I personally handed him two different cashier checks from my credit union. The following Monday, he started to rip off my old shingles or roof. On the same week, Friday, he asked for another $3,000.00. Another cashier check. Total in one week was $11,000.00 Then he left my roof opened, no protection and he abandoned it for almost two weeks. Then he sent a man late in the afternoon by himself. By 5:30p it was pitched dark, he was still trying to put the underlayment. Two weeks later Santa Winds came and it was ripping off my underlayment. All nails and pieces were broken and fallen to my driveway and backyard. I called Blue Jay, to send the guy back to my residence or he fix the problems. He gave me all kinds of excuses. He never showed up. He didn’t care if my roof didn’t have anymore protection. Then, the heavy rain came for days, all days, nights and started leaking into the kitchen, TV room, master bedroom, and my garage. I called him many times, and this man had no Mercy. He never returned to fix my roof. I went to the city to cancel his permit, so I could call another roofing company to fix the problems. The new roofing company came sealed all the stuff on top of my roof, to protect my plywood and from leaking. The new company went up to my roof when it was raining so hard. Pouring rain. Blue Jay, was Zero no show, no attendance. The material was not available until February 2024.
Blue Jay started in October 2023, after leaving my roof unprotected, abandoned it, he told me, the material wouldn’t be available until 2024. Blue Jay is no good. He is very professional by cheating customers. Very soft spoken but no good. No mercy. Number one liar. He made so many stories about how he was going to get the material from another stores when he realized there were no stores selling it until year 2024. He took off with my money, and only made payments of $1,500.00. This man is claiming, he is out of state. I don’t believe, he is out of state. This man had used a friend State License on his permit. This man claims, he goes to worship his God, Sabbath, but he is a user. Had no Mercy and has no Mercy. He rushed to collect $11,000.00 from me, but too lazy to come back to fix the problems and he didn’t care to replace my broken underlayment to a new heavy better underlayment.He did not CARE!
The new roofing company had to rip off the broken underlayment, to better and stronger underlayment. removed all nails left on the plywood, cleaned the plywood, replaced the broken plywood. He did a beautiful job, professional, has a State License. During those time, I needed him, he didn’t hesitate to come back. I was so much relieved. Blue Jay owes me money. He told me, he would try to make payments via this way, and different ways, but nothing was coming. His last, was to pay me $100.00. He must be kidding right? from $7,493.00
He goes from Blue Jay, Jay Mendoza and Julio Mendoza. Using State License of Gutierrez Brothers and Sons Roofing Company. These two are two kind of people.
