I received an email. Listing Invoice # 7790093912. It said that I opted in for auto pay for subscription renewed today for $540.70. This sum it said would appear in 48 hours on my statement. What statement, I do not know. Further it said, if I need to cancel the plan, call 1 888 388 7179. I called. The person knew my first name. Said I made this purchase. I insisted I did not, that this must be a scam. He said it’s for computer protection services, and didn’t I want that. I said NO. He said he would call me back right away. And he did from number 949 710 8973. I argued further and told him I would report this. He didn’t care and said this was a pre installed app in my computer that I activated. I told him no, that’s not true and I would not pay for this, all my computers are 3 years old so nothing new could show up. . Tried a reverse number lookup, but nothing came up. This is such a scam! I’m a senior citizen, by the way.
