I hired BBK Concrete for a small residential job after agreeing on the scope of work and timeline. The night before the scheduled work, the owner, Bryant Hawkins, called and said he had outsourced the job to an unnamed third party. He also changed the payment terms to cash only and added that I’d need to cover additional material if what was ordered wasn’t enough. I told him I was no longer comfortable with the changes and asked for a refund. He agreed, then blocked my number.

I confirmed I’d been blocked by calling from a friend’s phone, which he answered then hung up when he realized it was me. After I sent a message stating I’d be pursuing formal action, he called back angry and said he would only return part of the money. A partial refund was sent, and I was blocked again on all platforms. No work was ever started, and no contact has occurred since.
