I was contacted by a so called attorney saying a deceased relative left me $10 million dollars. I knew it was fake but played along to see where it would go, and to waste their time. It has gotten to the point that the credit union who is supposed to pay out 45% split to myself and attorney and 10% to charity sent me a supposed document but they accidentally sent me the same document with someone else’s name and address with the same $ amount. I googled him and got his phone number and texted him to warn him. He also realized it was a scam but we both decided to report it to the BBB, so other less savvy people won’t get scammed. The ate at the stage in this scam, were they say I need to fly up to Canada (I live in CA ) and so does the other mark) or I need to hire an attorney to represent me, that they recommend I’ll need a bank draft for all the fee’s.
