Received email for job offer, conducted online Skype interview, then offered role. Wanted to conducted bank transaction where check would be sent to my name and then I would purchase equipment for my role. Seemed suspicious as normally a company would go thru approved vendor and get direct billed and not send a new hire a check to purchase equipment.

Also notices that offer letter didn't have official email address from Avira Inc. with suffix (avira.com). When questioning this to "HR manager" he abruptly ended the conversation and pulled the offer. He indicated that I couldn't follow simple instructions. Tone of conversation seemed off and made me conduct researched to confirm this individual was not impersonating the company.
