Job recruiter posing as legitimate reps from Augmedix for Virtual Health Coach position reached out via email probably targeting my profile thru LinkedIn “shortlisted” my interview describing me as the “perfect fit”. Then came Microsoft Teams coordinated interview via text only, a phone call from posing as another legitimate rep to confirm interview process & receipt of follow up email of offer letter and employment forms W-4 & direct deposit for pay. Advised to buy 2 pieces of equipment and have them shipped to logistics company to have them set up for work (this is where I lost $1400) named Always Ready Logistics who is actually located in Arkansas but Houston TX address was given. 2 official looking checks from Augmedix were sent for echeck deposit into my accounts in which case the “onboarding coordinator” was instructing me to, at first wire the funds in 1 account to Scott Darragh at 214 Buchanan St. Edgewater Park, NJ 08007 PNC Bank Account 8145363706 for $14500. When that don’t work, “Matt Grush” instructed to use PayPal and try to send $950 to Mary McClure at email [email protected]. When that didn’t work, he instructed me to withdraw the funds and go to a Bitstop ATM which is where I went silent, realized what was happening as I was going thru family funeral dynamics. I redeposited the funds and watched both checks reversed out of my accounts within the next 12 hours.
