Received email but deleted it, so I don't have the address. Company "assurehire" was looking for people to be mystery shoppers for Walmart. They sent us a cashier's check for $2465.15 from OnPoint Community Credit Union with a long letter that had poor punctuation and run on sentences. It instructed us to cash check at our bank then take out $200 for ourselves, then purchase items from our local Walmart and complete a report on the store. Phone # supplied said "text only". Name at the bottom of the letter was Joshua Gordon with the above address. Name on outside of priority envelope was Desmond Gilbert, 1608 S. Ashland Ave., Chicago, IL 60608. I searched Walmart scams and this sounded like one of them. We did not give them any info, so not sure how they got our mailing address.

I received a Priority mail envelope with a typed letter and a check for 2465.15

The letter states to deposit the money and text that the money was deposited. Once deposited then I would receive instructions to go to Walmart money center. I would also need to shop at Walmart as well.

I never even applied for mystery shopper so there is no reason for receiving this. This is a strange request there fore it seems like a scam.
