Type of a scam Employment

They put up multiple job postings for professional positions on linkedin. They email and call, offering an interview in their office where they reveal that the position is actually a "MIT - Manager in Training", and that everyone has to work learning all of the roles before they can become a manager. They then tell them that this is the last day or interviews, and that they will have a conference call with the top managers to discuss the interviewees, then they invite the interviewee for an "on-site" interview. It is only here that they reveal the position is actually doing high-pressure sales in large consumer stores for commision. There are no actual employees, just people doing sales because they were promised a quick promotion, and those who scammed enough people into doing work for them, so that they can take their cut as a "manager".

They don't publish information about their clients, who are almost exclusively "as seen on TV products" and similar snake-oil like products. They say this is because of the "sensitivity of the clients", but considering that they are hawking the goods in prominent in-store. They also don't reveal until later that they are actually a part of an unnamed parent organization that has hundreds of similar spin-offs, because "they have different clients", and regulations are different. Which is another lie, the real reason is presumably that employees won't then be able to find information confirming that the company is a scam.

It is not a "scam", in the sense that there is a job, and they aren't stealing money. It is a scam, in that the jobs are not what they claim to be, they lie directly to the job seekers, and obscure information. It is a business set up as a pyramid-scheme for job-seekers.
