I honestly don't know how I ended up on this site... I was on the Homeland Security / CBP website to apply for Global Entry, I followed the link from my credit card company. I confirmed it was a .gov site and legitimate. I clicked through the application steps and was prompted to go to sign up for login.gov, which I did, and once I logged in was directed to the fraudulent website. Something about it seemed off then, so I closed out and went through the government website to pull up the application again, but ended up at the same site so I proceeded. I had suspicions raised again when it asked for an extra $150 processing fee - before submitting, I opened a totally different browser, confirmed I was on the CBP website, and clicked through the global entry application steps AGAIN and still came to the same website, so I proceeded and paid.

After I submitted, I thought it was odd that I didn't get a confirmation email, and couldn't find an address or phone number. So I went through the government website process for a fourth time, and now ended up on a different application site that was the legitimate site - I applied there and clicked through as well, and when I got to the end there was a note that this was the only valid site, which made me realize I had most likely been scammed.
