I should have done more research before contacting this company, as there are countless complaints about Appliance Repairman in Los Angeles at 213-516-3700. (They also have a San Diego number at 858-999-9005) This is their M.O.: they send a technician to your house for 89.99, saying the money could be used toward repair, and then the technician disappears and the company does not return phone calls. According to other posts on the internet, I'm not the only person who got fooled by this company, and I'm not the only person taking them to small claims court! Do not, under any circumstances, do business with Appliance Repairman in Los Angeles. There are plenty of other appliance repairmen in the area who do NOT have pages of complaints on Scampulse.com!

Sam my repairman came out and quoted me $1703 to fix 3 appliances. He said he had to order the parts put half down which was $851.50 which I did. Sam also said he would be back in 7 days to install after the parts came in. 14 days later I called and asked when are you coming to install. Sam said I'm still waiting on the ice maker from Viking but I can fix your other appliances, I said OK come on out. He can 3 weeks after the initial service call to install parts. Sam installed the parts in my wine cooler and said I installed the parts and it still doesn't work. I don't know what is wrong with it and I can't fix it. He replaced a water valve in my Ice Maker and said it should start working in 8-12 hours. 2 weeks have gone by and it still doesn't work. I texted Sam on his cell and said if your not confident with fixing my appliances just give me my money back. Sam said he would call the office and tell them to give me my money back. Within 5 days I received a check for $495.50 shorting me $356. Their Repair man Sam agreed to give me all my money back but ownership decided to do something different. Do not use this company, they can't repair anything and ownership does not return phone calls or except responsibility for their lack of knowledge and just throwing parts at the situation instead of actually repairing appliances.

We called because our dishwasher was not washing or drying properly, and had also lost power. It is only 5 years old. Appliance Repairman came out and the technician spent some time getting the power restored. It seems he cleaned the plug and that's all. He assured us all problems were solved. The charge was $180. Once we ran the dishwasher, it still doesn't dry or completely wash. It now made a noise and the light no longer comes on at the end of a cycle. We called back and they sent the technician back 1/2 hour before the scheduled time without a confirmation phone call. My teenage son was the only one at home. The man was at our home for less than 10 minutes and told my son that the problem is now fixed. Now they say it will be an additional $460 to fix the original problem. I don't know how these other reviewers have names of these people. They won't give me any information over the phone. As far as I can tell, there is no license number, no address and no website. They are a total SCAM. I want my money back, but I can't even figure out who to go after. Don't use them. They have these numbers on the invoice: 858-999-9005; 213-516-3700; 855-399-9888.

Update: After we threatened to take the company to small claims court, they refunded all but the original $69 they charge for a service call. Unfortunately, our machine is still not fixed, but at least we got most of our money back. It might be worth pursuing with follow up calls if you have trouble with this company. I called all three numbers a few times and was eventually told I was getting a refund. A few days later it showed up on my bank statement.

We didn’t see these until after we were scammed too. We needed our dryer fixed, it worked intermittently but wanted to fix it before it went out. Also the timer was broke so we wanted that fixed too. Alex came out and worked on it for 4 minutes if that and said it works. I told him it doesn’t always work and showed him the timer didn’t work. He rudely threw his hands up and said too old. He wanted his $69.00 and I told him no. He won’t fix my problem. Told him to leave and he kicked in my screen door. This guy was violent and when we called Kenny he said do what you gotta do. Then blocked our number. Total loss of my screen door. Don’t hire Appliance Repairman a 213-516-3700. Total scam!

On 05/03/21, while the company was quick to respond, we were charged $352.00 to have a washer door gasket replaced. While the gasket worked in so far as any leaks are concerned, the washer now vibrates on the spin cycle to the point of being deafening and there is a smell of burnt rubber throughout the house. I understand a repair that may be faulty, but to have a defect FAR worse than when we started is unacceptable to me.

Everyone is quick to offer negative experiences and not always the positive ones but this company needs to be shut down! They are crooks and will continue to screw people if we continue to support and don’t share our experiences.

I found out the company online and was impressed by the prompt availability to visit my home and repair my refrigerator. The technician arrived on-time and fixed the refrigerator. I paid $350 via credit card. Within 60 days the refrigerator began having the same issues. I immediately called to report the problem and I was first told I needed to defrost the freezer. When I explained I didn't know how to properly do that and I wanted it looked at professionally while it was still under warranty, I was told they could come back out and replace a part but it would be an additional $150. I was reluctant to pay more since the warranty for the $350 job was not being honored so I was offered a refund at that time but since the technician first told me it was one of two issues, I trusted that the second visit would resolve the issue in full. The technician came to my home in May and "fixed" the issue again. This time I was not home so I left a check. When we asked for a receipt, we were told receipts are only given with credit card payments, not checks so we asked the technician to date the original invoice documenting he made a second visit. Saturday, June 26th the refrigerator was not cooling/freezing so I called since I am still within my 60 day warranty. I was told by a woman that she would call the technician. She called me back later saying he could come to my home on Monday and fix it for free this time; he hasn't fixed it the first two times so a free visit isn't any favor. When I said that wouldn't work I requested a refund and she confirmed the payment methods in which the refund would be processed and a manager would call me Sunday since they were off Saturday. Sunday came and went with no phone call. I called Monday and spoke to someone else and again, the manager was behind the scenes but would not call and speak to me. When I called Tuesday I spoke to a man and he said the manager said they would offer me a 50% refund. I requested to speak directly with the manager to resolve this and he said he would relay the message. I never heard back and called about 3:30pm only to learn my cell phone had been blocked and my call would no longer go through. I was able to reach someone later in the day using a different phone and after explaining the situation once again, I was hung up on. Today I called and was treated very rudely but the lady who took my call. The first time I either was hung up on after identifying myself or the call was disconnected. When I called back I was told they wanted to send a technician but I refused. I only refused additional work to be done, if the technician wants to confirm the problem prior to issuing the refund, that is fine. The technician was scheduled to come Wednesday between 4 and 5pm. I am still unable to call as my number has been blocked. The lady ignored my concern about not being able to call and said I would be called if anything changes. It is 1:00 and I just received a text from Alex that he would be there in 30 minutes. Nobody will be there until 4pm as discussed earlier. Wednesday afternoon I received a call that there was a scheduling conflict so they couldn’t come but the could the following day. I didn’t have anyone available to let them in so we agreed they would come Friday morning at 8am. Later Wednesday I received two missed calls and a message saying the technician could come after all between 4 and 5. I was unable to return the call since my number was blocked but since we agreed for Friday at 8, I figured I’d see them then. Friday morning nobody showed. I had to have other people call using different numbers since mine was blocked. I then tried calling from an alternative line and when I got through and identified myself, I was immediately hung up. This happened 3 times and I then stopped calling and will pursue legally.

Dont use! A russian repairman came to fix my fridge and couldnt even speak english. He had to use a translation app to communicate with me. He claimed he fixed the freon issue and that it would work in 24 hours. It did not. I called to request he come back out but they said he couldnt. I demanded a refund and they said they would return $320 of the 400 but had to pay the $80 fee for sending someone out. I dont know if they will actually reimburse anything and have to find someone else. Found them on a google search. Be aware!

They are a scam! A technician named Alex, if that is his real name, came to the house with an attitude. He took apart the washer/dryer combo and wouldn't answer my questions. He put it back together without showing me the problem while rolling his eyes, then proceeded to tell me it was a timer issue that would cost me $450. After he left, I noticed the dryer button was stuck, and it wasn't before. I called the company back and only got a voicemail. 40 min later they called, and after many excuses said he would come back in 30 min. When he returned, he took it apart again just to quickly walk out saying he was done before I could look. I ran over to the dryer and it was still stuck! When I called the company back and spoke to Sarah, who said he would return in the morning again. Alex did not return during that window, and we called the company and spoke to a Stanley, who said that he would come the following evening from 6-8pm. The day he was supposed to come, we both tried to call and the calls would not go through. After I called from my work number, it went through and I left a vm. Sarah called back my work number, only to tell me that they didn't see anything scheduled then said they would call back to check where the technician was. I asked for their company address and she would not give it to me, then hung up on me. I'm glad I only lost $69 for the quote, but now my dryer button is broken!

Total scam. We hired them to fix a Samsung fridge leaking issue. They give a '60 days warranty' and conveniently ended the week before the issue arose again. They did not repair the issue. Did not offer to come take a look at the issue at no charge and said we're out of luck.

Appliance repair scam! I had been looking for an appliance repair person to come out and take a look at my dryer. Based on the recommendations on next-door, I called several different companies. I ended up going with Appliance Repairman. This was a huge mistake! They originally came out in October to fix the dryer. Consequently, they came out five additional times for the same exact problem. I thought it was finally resolved last month and then as of last week, the dryer again is not working! At this point I had paid over $600 for repairs. When I called them to come back out, they stated that it was past the sixty days warranty and they would charge me again for coming out. Feeling like I had already invested so much money in this dryer, I figured I would give it one more shot. Long story short, they ended up charging me another $250. All along it’s had the same exact problem...the dryer would not get hot! I just tried to find them on Google so that I could put a negative review for them so that no one else gets scammed, but unfortunately their website no longer exists. I should’ve known. Either way, stay as far away as you can from this company. Apparently they have offices in San Diego and Los Angeles. I will include all the information I have so nobody else falls into the same trap.
