Appliance Repair Guys Reports & Reviews (2)

I Googled Frigidaire Repairs and the first website that popped up was www.appliancerepairguys.com. I contacted them by phone and asked what they charged for a service call. They replied $80., and that if I went ahead with the repair it would be deducted from the price. I supplied them the address - a rental property. Once there, a man with a thick accent and broken English called and said it would cost $350 to fix the oven. I thought that was a lot but said to go ahead and fix it. He called me half hour later and told me I owed him $350 for the service. When I told him I wanted the broken part he replaced left behind, he said he had not fixed it yet and that the cost of the part and labour were yet to be determined! ! ! He had not idea of the cost, even after he called the office. His office called me for payment, but now it was $395 +. This is an outrageous scam! ! ! I was not told about the $350 when I first called. I was told ther service call was $80. What did he service for $80, therefore? I have since phoned other repair companies and this price is atrocious ! These people need to be stopped! I believe the repair man's English didn't help this situation at all, and the original call did not outline this cost. So these people can send guys to your house, and if you say no to this ridiculous price, which most will do, they'll just get you for $80?? Interesting . . . Right now, I don't know what's wrong, and no idea what the part will cost. Shouldn't they know the cost?

I called this company to repair my dryer that had no heat. They said it would be a $80 service charge to diagnose the problem. I agreed to this and they came to my house at 1pm. He then told me that with this electrical dryer it will be $280 to fix the problem and usually no parts are needed. I left him to do the work and he called me down 20 minutes later saying he fixed the problem and no parts are needed. I asked what he did and he could not justify his work. He said the machine works great and the problem is completely fixed. I paid the $300. I went to do the laundry a hour later and the dryer still had no heat. The problem was never fixed. I called the company and they told me I need a heating element which will be $265.for the part.i asked for my money back and they refused.
