Type of a scam: Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

Initially this was a cold call to our small business in NJ to inform us about a demo on equipment hoses that we could take advantage of. The person on the other end of the phone would not take no for an answer and essentially trapped the owner into agreeing to this product demo. We received the product a few weeks later and also an invoice. We were advised the invoice would come when our 30 day trial expired. I immediately called the company to question the invoice and was advised that they could only speak with the original point of contact that they spoke to at our business. When I advised the person on the other line that they were unavailable and that I was just attempting to return the item that we had not used or needed I was told to file an online return request on their website. Upon finishing the call I went and filed the return request which advised me that "someone from the company would get in contact with us to complete the return." One full week later they contacted me and would not speak to me, only the original point of contact again, and essentially told me the bill would have to be paid regardless because they recorded the original call and the owner had agreed to the terms. When I stated that we understood the terms but we also followed our end and submitted the return request in a timely manner I was told that the invoice would have to be paid irregardless. I told them I would like to hear the initial recording and was told it was for interoffice communications only. Lastly, I told them that if they insist on billing us I would file complaints with the supplier, who we also deal with, as well as google and anywhere else. The man on the other line interrupted me throughout the call and seemed annoyed when I questioned the validity of the relationship with him and said supplier. I WILL NOT BE SENDING ANY KIND OF BANKING/CREDIT CARD INFORMATION TO THIS COMPANY. Their practices are unethical and their customer service is dire at best.
