Received a text from the above number from a Mr. Brian Pitts, claiming he was from the ALTEN GROUP. He shared that my resume had been found on Indeed and I had been selected to interview for a job paying $35.65/hr. Red flags were many. First, no possible employer will text. Further, no company will ask to connect on Skype or Telegram. Lastly, I asked Mr. PITTS for his company website to learn more about their organization in preparation for the interview- they could not provide. Big Scam. AVOID.

I was first contacted by a person claiming to be Brian Mitts from Alten Group, for an interview the next day via skype. He also said he saw my resume on indeed.com. Next morning I get a request from Mike Robert saying we can commence the process.

Everything was done in text which I found odd. Asked lot of questions until he said you got the job, we will e-mail you an offer tomorrow and a check through the mail for you to deposit and buy the materials and licenses for the software you'll need but only to spend with their vendors and their vendors only.

I had a friend call the initial phone number but nobody answers and then I decided to google the skype ID (live:.cid.1adf7b31f4a55b6b) to find out its used for scams claiming to be from different companies and commit fraud via the check they send.

Beware.

Received a text from someone claiming to be a Mr. Brian Mitts with Alten Group. I immediately started googling. You should know first and foremost. Companies are not going to send a text nor are they going to ask you to do an interview via Skype or any other app, they will call you. These scammers will use legitimate Company and employee names, but there is always something not right with it. You basically have to be a detective. And it does not matter if you are working onsite or working from home, if you need a laptop for your job with the company, they will provide it. If you have to work with certain programs those programs will already be installed on the laptop the company provides for you and anything else you may need will also be provided by the company. You should not have to purchase anything. NO company is going to send you a check. IF they need to provide you with funds for any reason you will receive a Company Card with the Company name and allotted funds will be available on that company card. It’s a shame these people prey on persons actually looking for real work and then you have to deal with their nonsense…smh I say all of that to say I receive at least 1-2 a day or every few days and I ask them the same questions. Where did you find my resume, what is the company website so I can learn more about the organization, what is their position in the company, what is their bosses name and can I get their phone number to verify information, where is the company located and what is the company number. Whatever questions I can think of to ask that they should be able to answer without hesitation. They wind up just not answering back and THAT is the biggest indication that it’s definitely a scam. Beware and look for the red flags.

An last but not least as this person said, the majority of companies are not going to send a text nor are they going to ask you to do an interview via Skype or any other app. Beware people and look for the red flags.
