Sold a bill of goods that I needed Firewall protection that Norton supposedly did not provide which is not true (I should have checked with Norton immediatlely). I was charged $169.99 which I will dispute with my credit card provider. I am not usually a victim of a spam, these folks sounded very convincing, even calling me back. My system was thoroughly checked by Norton and there was no other Firewall installed.

Been scammed for $199 by someone who said his name was David Roden, supposedly an Apple Certified Technician at 201-431-2646. What happened was that while on the internet a flashing, full screen warning came up that my computer had been hacked and I needed to call an 888 number. When I called I fell for the scam of some $199 software that they were supposedly going to add to my computer. It sounded legit as they mentioned that before anything happens, I would get a call on Monday from PC Solutions, who I thought I had heard of. Meanwhile on the Sunday my debit card was billed by AKS Business Consultants. Needless to say, I canceled my debit card.

Scammer froze and blocked total computer use, stating that turning it off would totally crash and make the computer useless, indicating that the only way to correct the problem was to call their tech support for liberating the technical block at 1-888-660-0687. I called this number and felt like that the contact behaved like a ransomware organization. He said that my computer had been invaded and hacked by what he said was Russian or European hackers. The only way to correct the problem was to pay them for the installation of soft ware tools and program at the price of 299.00. I told Tom Parker, the scammer, that we are both senior citizens and can not afford such a charge. He then dropped it down for a senior citizens rate of 199.00. I told him OK and he said that his tech would need an hour on the computer, so don't touch it or use it. I left it alone and after an hour the tech named Mark called back and said the computer is fixed. I noticed that after the fix that the main feature that was added was a McAfee security system and I do not know or have any way of checking whether this scam was a hacker or a McAfee ploy to break our computer to sell their software. I do however feel that this was an unethical way to scam senior citizens of unavailable cash. Since this incident the computer has been working wonderfully without any problems.
